New Lives For Immigrants

As the topic of immigration pops up on the political scene, we offer some great reading about the immigrant experience. Common themes of disorientation, disillusionment and a feeling of not belonging are found in both memoirs and fiction. These are stories that share the joy of new opportunities and hope. For the immigrant experience told in verse, read Leland Kinsey's narrative poem, The Immigrant's Contract: Poems. The following lists are a sample of Howe Library books on this topic.
