Tuesday, September 30, 2008 Starting mid-October, the Howe Library will be lending three Amazon Kindles, wireless and portable reading devices. Each device holds approximately 200 titles, but Howe Library will only be offering a limited number of titles because our goal is to simply expose patrons to new technologies. Two Kindles will be available to take home for one week and you may place your name on the reserve list, just as you do with other library materials. One Kindle will be for in-library use only, similar to the service we offer for laptop computers. More information about the Kindle may be found at Amazon’s web site: www.amazon.com. This new service was made available by the Sunup Foundation which has recently donated funds in memory of Joy Lange Boardman, a long-time library volunteer.
